Laundry Love People Isla Vista is completely dependent upon volunteer and financial partners to sustain its efforts. Many different groups and individuals share their time and monetary recourses so that LLP can continue caring for those living in poverty in Isla Vista: from local businesses to faith communities, social activist groups to families and individuals, campus groups to community volunteer coops and beyond. Below is a list of ways that you, your group or family can partner with LLP in Isla Vista. If any of the ideas below spark new and fresh ideas for involvement, we would love to hear them.

Financial

Give a one time or ongoing financial gift and/or collect change at your business, group or home

• Families commit to placing their loose change in a Laundry Love container each month. Prior to each Laundry Love event, the family organizes the change and drops it off at a pre-arranged LLP location.
• Families or groups host an LLP “Quarter Drive” by selling goods/services or by raising awareness in the community. From children selling lemonade in front of their house to faith communities hosting an LLP sponsored Quarter Drive on a weekend, the possibilities are endless.
• Businesses place an LLP change container at their registers for customers to place their loose change in.
• Businesses place a gumball machine in their store.

Items purchased can be delivered prior to an LLP event at a pre-arranged LLP location.

Volunteer

Volunteers are needed on a consistent basis to staff events, fundraise and perform many other specialized tasks.

• Families or groups provide and serve dinner, snacks, or coffee at an LLP event.
• Individual or group volunteers to assist in checking people in, loading quarters and distributing detergent at an LLP event.
• Individual or group volunteers to hang LLP flyers the week prior to an event.
• Tutors to assist children with schoolwork.
• Individual or group volunteers to host art space for children wanting to color and draw.
• Photographers to visually document an LLP event
• Videgraphers to film and edit short 2-5 minute documentaries of our LLP events.
